Attention: City Water Customers -
Odd/Even Day Sprinkling Ban
To reduce peak water usage in areas served by the municipal water system, the City of Ram-
sey has implemented an odd/even day sprinkling ban, pursuant to City Code,Section 58-118.
The sprinkling ban will be in effect from May 31 until September 6, 2016.
Residents may water their lawns on odd numbered days if their address ends in an odd
number and on even numbered days if their address ends in an even number.
The sprinkling restriction includes no watering between 10:00 am and 8:00 Pm since a sig-
nificant amount of water is lost due to evaporation during the hottest times of the day. Home- :-
owners with automated systems are strongly encouraged to program their irrigation systems to
operate after 10:00 pm. This minimizes evaporation and lessens peak demand on the municipal
water system.
The only exception to the sprinkling ban is for new sod or seeded areas. These areas may be watered every day for
two weeks to establish root growth, but not between 10:00 am and 8:00 Pm.
In addition to the residential sprinkling ban,the City has an irrigation policy that is specific to townhome,multi-
family residential and commercial connections to the municipal water supply requiring that:
• All irrigation systems must have an approved backflow device.
• All irrigation systems must include a rain sensor device to prevent irrigation systems from operating during
rain events.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Jo Warner,Engineering/Public Works Administrative Assistant,at
763-433-9820 or mwarner@cityoframsey.com.
Lot - ARNIN .
LOD ( C
THE SOIL EXPERTS. ,
A UNIQUE CHILD CARE EXPERIENCE
We Deliver
NOW ENrvLLINv
Quality...
Soil, sand, rock, FO sVMM-Er?
mulch, pavers,
Spot 'ei
and much more f UUiq ui't'ac.y
PlaistedCa« 763-427-2587 fora [Our-
Companies
our.
C ompanie s
:51; i N c o R P o R A T E D 6139 157th Lane NW, Ramsey, MN 55303
Elk River • 763.441.1100 Cty Rd. 5 & Sunfish Blvd.
plaistedcompan ies.com www.thelearninglodgeinramsey.com
12 Ramsey Resident • July/August 2016
