County Road 64 from County Road 83 to County Road 5.

167th Avenue N.W. from County Road 5 to Minnesota Highway 47.
153rd Avenue N.W. from County Road 5 to the Rum River.

County Road 57 from County Road 5 to Minnesota Highway 10 & 169
and from Minnesota Highway 47 to Sunfish Lake Boulevard.

Variolite Street N.W. from County Road 63 to 155th Avenue N.W.
155th Avenue N.W. from Variolite Street to County Road 56.
County Road 56 from County Road 5 to Minnesota Highway 10 & 169.
Minnesota Highway 10 & 169 from Anoka to Elk River.

These bike trails will afford safe and easy access for bicyclers
throughout the city. Biking is becoming the biggest alternative to
short distance motoring, and in the near future it may overtake motor-
ized vehicles for the short distance jaunt, shopping trip or as a
way to reach our recreation sites.

Trott and Ford Brook Trails

It is also proposed that a 9.5 mile multi-purpose trail system be
acquired and developed. Trott Brook, running about eight miles east-
erly from Elk River to the Rum River, is proposed as one in which
a minimum of 100' of good usable land be acquired on each side of
the Brook for its entire length. Ford Brook, running about 1~ miles
southerly from Burns Township to Trott Brook, is the other trail
proposed and would be similar to Trott Brook--with acquisition of
100' on each side for its entire length. This is a great natural
feature of Ramsey and should not be exploited by developers or others,
but preserved for all the residents to use. The trails would support
hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and possibly
snowmobiling. In addition, the trails would be connecting several
park sites, thus creating a true park system.

- 26 -
