the City has been working on saving the commercial node in this area. It will be a number of <br />months, if not years, before the sewer pipe is completed in this area. Principal City Engineer <br />Olson explained Mr. Peterson had a wonderful suggestion. Mr. Peterson indicated there is a long <br />driveway on the property that is currently being rented, and the renters will immediately turn it <br />over for use of the paved portion. In the event a plan goes forward north of the park Mr. Peterson <br />would construct all of that roadway. The access would be able to be utilized off of the cul-de-sac <br />right away. <br /> <br />Sunfish Lake Planning Area <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson reported the next step in the process of the Sunfish Lake Planning <br />Area will be to hire one of the three firms that submitted the proposals. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns clarified this plan has not been turned down, it has just been a matter of <br />priorities. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson responded in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Alpine Park Playground <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood reported the Alpine Park playground is on track. The <br />consultant has been hired to complete most of the coordination. She will be working with an <br />artist at the University of Minnesota St. Cloud that has done a lot of work with public spaces, <br />game designs, and children's activities. In April the Commission should be introduced to a draft <br />of the design. There are funds earmarked within the CIP for this project.
