LEFEBVR£ <br />~.,ou nt ¥ Auditor <br /> 1134 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> Office o.f Count)' Auditor <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 612-421-4760 <br /> <br />October 20, 1983 <br /> <br />TO: Ail Municipal Clerks <br /> <br />This letter is to keep you abreast of any changes in Statutes <br />ghat may affect the upcoming November and future elections. <br /> <br />Minnesota Statute 203B.085 has been added which requires ~hat <br />all county auditor offices are to remain open for absentee <br />voting from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 5:00 p.m. <br />~o 7:00 p.m. on Monday preceding a primary or general election. <br />This also applies to municipal elections. <br /> <br />Minnesota Statute 203B.02 allows an eligible voter who reasonably <br />anticipates that he will be unable to go to ghe polls to apply <br />for an absentee ballot. <br /> <br />Minnesota Statute 203B.04, Subd. 1, removes ~he 45 day limit for <br />absentee ballot applications and allows the~ to be submitted a~ <br />any time prior to election day. <br /> <br />Minnesota Statute 204B.35, Subd. 4, mandates tha~ absentee ballots <br />he ready 20 days before an election instead of 15, <br /> <br />Enclosed is a 1983 Legislative Summary for your information, <br /> <br />For cities having a~ election this year, please point out te your <br />election Judges that the complete birthdate, including month, day, <br />a~d year is required for all eligible voters registering after <br />A~gust 1, 1983; amended to M,S. 201.071, Subd, 3, If it is ~ot <br />furnished the registration is deficient.
