A second <br />increase in natural gas rates will take effect with bills issued on or <br />after November 27, 1983. This increase is necessary to offset the increase <br />t~ monthly demand charges we received from Northern Natural Gas Company, <br />our supplier in your area. <br /> <br />'~iChigan Wisconsin's increase results from the filing of their general rate <br />Increase with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission which includes an <br />ncrease in the monthly storage demand charge. As a result, North CeQtr~) <br />will be increasing all Firm Rates for natural gas by $0.00D8! per hundred <br />cubic feet (HCF}. This represents an approximate increase of g1¢ annually <br />to the average residential spaceheating customer, or expressed as a per-: <br />centage of increase, about .1%. <br /> <br />Northern's increase results from the implementation of a new ~ervlce con- <br />tract between North Central and Northern which increases the winter period <br />contract demand volume. This increased volume results in increased monthly <br />demand service charges. As a result, North Central will increase the rates <br />for gas service in the affected areas by $0.00230 per hundred cubic feet' <br />(HCF). This represents an approximate increase of $5.01 annually to the <br />average residential spaceheating customer, or expressed as a percentage of <br />.increase, about .8%.
