We are available to conduct <br />this course for your employees that drive ~tor vehicles as part of thetr nornml Job. <br />While there is a nominal $6.00 per student course ~terials fee, there is no addi- <br />tional charge for our service as InstruCtors. (Classes-n~y be conducted at your <br />facility. Class size should be no sheller than l0 persons and no larger than 40 <br />persons per session. <br /> <br />This is an 8 hour accident avoidance training course, given preferably in two, <br />four hour segnents. The objective of the course is to provide information, concepts <br />and standards of judgement which will enable the average driver to acquire better <br />driving habits. The course ~terial is drawn from training courses successfully <br />used to train the professional driver and thus far, it appears the average driver <br />welco~s the opportunity to learn "to drive like a pro". <br /> <br />Following is a brief listing of the concepts covered: <br /> <br />1. A Perfect T~rip - avoid 5 errors - accidents, traffic violations, vehicle abuse, <br /> -schedule delays and discourtesy. <br /> <br />A Preventable Accident - one in which you failed to do everything you reasonably <br />could have done to prevent the accident. <br /> <br />3. Defensive Driving - the ability to drive so as to prevent accidents in spite <br />....,bf the actions of others or the presence of adverse conditions. <br /> <br />4. The Standard Accident Prevention Formla <br /> a) Recognize the hazard. <br /> b) Understand the defense. <br /> c) <br /> Take corrective (defensive) mction in tim. <br /> <br />5. Basic Oata <br /> ~a) Types of accidents (over 40% two-vehicle collisions). <br /> ti Stopping distances.l .- <br /> Fol lowing distances. <br /> <br />m 6. The 6 Positions of the Two-Car Crash and Oefenses for Each <br /> a) Vehicle ahead'. <br /> d~) Vehicle from an angle. <br /> b) <br /> Vehicle <br /> behind. <br /> e) <br /> Vehicle passing. <br /> c) Vehicle approaching, f) Vehicle passed by you. <br /> <br />m <br />m <br />m <br />m <br />m <br />m <br /> <br />7.
