Street Surfacin~ ~.~. <br />J ~_cceptance Of Barthel's Rum River Acres Second Additionl: <br />m a} Receiving And Accepting Bi~ Proposal On Well And Irrigation Equipment - <br /> <br /> City Engineer Raatikka stated that the City was looking at a ballpark <br /> m __~ figure of $60,000 at one time and the bids have in at $90,000. <br /> come <br /> City Engineer Raatikka further con~nented that hehas talked with <br /> Mr. E.H. Rennet and he stated that well drilling costs are very ' <br /> m unpredictable - as an example, a well in Champlin was bid at $60,000 <br /> and final cost was $38,000. ' - <br /> <br /> m Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter <br /> to adopt Resolution #83-172 approving the acceptance of bids on a well <br /> for Central Park and awarding bid to E.H. Rennet at a cost of $57,055.00. <br /> m (Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #83-172). <br /> Further Discussion: Councilmember Sorteberg inquired as to how this <br /> m irrigation system will be paid for. Councilmember Van Wagner stated that <br /> the funds would come from Revenue Sharing. Mr. Schnelle stated that <br /> these funds are desigQated to the limit and only $30,000 was budget for <br /> the irrigation system,' therefore the City would be forced to find an <br /> m additional $30,000. Councilmember Sorteberg noted that the City only <br /> received two bids and he would like to see more. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Van Wagner withdraws her motion. Councilmember Schlueter <br /> withdraws her second to the motion. <br /> <br />i Motion by Councilmember Sortebe~g and seconded by <br /> Councilmember <br /> Van <br /> Wagner <br /> to reject all bids on well and'~rrigation equipment. <br />· I Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br /> ~ Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> m - councilmember Sorteberg stated that the City is going in the back door= to <br /> get Central Park developed, that a park bond fa~led and now Council is <br /> looking at spending $100,000 for an irrigation system for that park. <br /> <br /> <br />
