Council regarding an appointment to the Airport Cc~nission will be made by
consensus rather than motion.

~be Co~ission proceeded to interview the 3 applicants for the position.

Don Stauffer - Stated that he has been interested in aviation all his life
and that his father was a pilot. Mr. Stauffer stated that he has worked
in the aerospace industry for 20 years and served as an officer in the Air
Force. Stated that most of his flight experience is military related but
he is aware of problems associated with private flight. Mr. Stauffer
stated that his h~me is 1 mile fr~m the end of the Gateway North runway
and he is conscious of the noise, safety and property value aspects; he is
acquainted with both sides of the issue. Mr. Stauffer stated that he has
not been actively flying for the last 5 years.

Ron Erickson - Stated that he is a 10 year Ramsay resident, private pilot
and has not fl~n much over the years. Mr. Erickson stated he is
interested in getting involved in municipal affairs; he is interested in
seeing Ramsey expand and increase it's tax base and an improved airport
could aid in that expansion. Mr. Erickson stated that he is not 100%
convinced as yet, but he can make an impartial decision based on potential
economic benefits to Ramsey. Mr. Erickson stated that his expertise is in
financial management; he is employed at ~oneywell and has recently taken
the position of Controller of C~mmercial Aviation.

Steve Larsen - Stated that he is a 14 year Ramsey resident and a private
pilot. Stated that as a resident of Ramsay, he is interested in seeing
that Ramsey gets the most for it's dollar and that taxes re~ain neutral.

Chairman Ippel stated that the Commission is impressed with all 3
applicants and that there is one immediate position to fill and there
could potentially be more vacancies in the near future.

C(m~nissioner Morr~ stated that his term expires in December of 1984 and
he will not seek reappointment to the Cc~amission.

Chairman Ippel stated that in conversations with Mr. Patz, he gets the
impression that Mr. Patz would be more comfortable with providing the
C~mmission with his expertise on an as needed basis and giving up his
position on the C~mission to a local person that would be better able to
attend the meetings.

Bruce ~hempson stated that he has a general interest in aviation but
declined to apply for a position on the Cc~mission because the last he
heard the Commission, in an attempt to avoid controversy, was seeking a
non-aviation type person for the vacancy.

Chairman Ippel explained that everybody on the C~mission is trying to be
impartial, but it does take a certain amount of aviation expertise to sit
d~n and review an airport master plan. People that have attended the
Airport meetings, that are not aviation oriented, have been asked to join
the Cc~mission but decline.

Cc~missioner Siebert stated that he would like to see Steve Larsen
