I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />EDC Action: Your action will be to make a recommendation to the City <br />(~ouncil. <br /> <br />CASE ~5: CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br /> <br />At the last City Council meeting, the Council approved of ordering a <br />n~aster plan study to be done on the Gateway North Industrial Airport. <br />Thc grant application was submitted to the State of Minnesota and they <br />have informed us by telephone that the5, will be approving of grant monies <br />which will represent 80% of the cost of this study. <br /> <br />Secondly, the City Council is conducting a workshop session with the <br />Commission Chairpersons and Staff in establishing economic goals for <br />1984. The first meeting was conducted on January 31st. Due to a large <br />amount of discussion on City pm-ticipation in economic development, <br />the meeting is being continued to February 8, 1984. From this meeting <br />tile Council will be establishing economic development and other goals <br />in resolution form for year 1984. <br /> <br />Tile City Council's of Ramsey, Andover, Anoka and Champlin will be <br />meeting on February 29, 1984 to discuss with Mr. Bill Crawford, MN/DoT <br />District ~.5 Engineer, the Anoka/Champlin bridge, Ferry Street proposed <br />improvement projects and the possibility of a bypass upstream. Anoka <br />Electric Cooperative's letter in regards to the highway bypass through <br />Anoka is enclosed as enclosure {DZ-b). <br /> <br />If you have any recommendations you would like to submit to the City <br />Council in regards to this Quad City meeting, you should make a motion <br />that those items be brought up for discussion. <br /> <br />I am also enclosing as enclosure (DZ--c) tax calculation information which <br />the City Assessor has prepared. Page 1 gives you the industrial tax base <br />total valuation and residential tax base total valuation. Page Z gives <br />you tax calculations for a $60,000 home vs. $60,000 commercial property <br />collectable 1984 and it also gives you the formula as to how it is arrived <br />at. Page 3 gives you the tax calculation and formula for an $~8_~,0_0_0~ <br />home vs. $80,000 commercial property collectable in 1984. At the bottom <br />of page 3 in the second column, you will note the tax comparison between <br />$6,.0,0~0_0.. and $80,000 residential and commercial properties. ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
