Voting yes <br />Voting no <br /> <br />REVIEWING PROPC)~ 1985 AI~ CITY BUDSET AND ADOPTING TAX LEVY <br />FOR 1985t <br /> <br />The Council, at their regular meeting of September 10, 1984, <br />conducted the Revenue Sharing public hearing. At that time the <br />Council Budget Committee, in their review of the proposed 1985 <br />budget, stated that they recommended that the Revenue Sharing <br />funds be utilized in the following areas: <br /> <br />a) Street maintenance equipment <br />b) Computer equipment <br /> <br />This would be in keeping with the City's past policy in the using <br />of Revenue Sharing funds. The Budget Committee recc~nmended <br />funds be transferred from the Landfill Trust Fund to fund the <br />Central Park improvement, as originally the Park and Recreation <br />Commission had requested the use of Revenue Sharing funds for <br />these improvements. A summary of the proposed 1985 budget has <br />been submitted to the Ramsey Resident as required by Charter. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be to review the proposed 1985 <br />City budget and make any desired changes to it. Enclosure (D~-u) <br />contains the proposed resolution adopting the 1985 tax levy ~hich <br />has to be accomplished by October 10, 1984 by law. If you are <br />not prepared to adopt the tax levy, you had better get a date for <br />a special meeting of the Council. The adoption of the actual <br />budget does not have to be done until we have settled salaries <br />(at least those of non-union employees). However, Council should <br />review all of the proposed supplements and proposed uses of <br />certain funds and approve of them by Council motion. <br />Accordingly, the following is submitted for Council <br />consideration: <br /> <br /> a) Supplement #1 to 1985 Annual City Budget (Police <br />Department) - If Council approves of the request contained in <br />this supplement, you will have to do it by motion. The following <br />proposed motion is hereby submitted for your consideration: <br /> Motion by i/~ (~ and seconded by ~~adopt <br /> Supplement #1 to the 1985 annual City ~udget. The following <br /> is being added which will increase the proposed 1985 core <br /> budget as shown: Police activity 101-2211-43199 $700.00 (a. <br /> Buy money (property and drug buys) $500.00 and b. Stress <br /> F_KG $200.00). Further, this increas~will be funded through <br /> the ad valorem tax levy. <br /> <br /> Notion carried.
