CLEAN-UP DAY PERMIT DISTRIBUTION

April 23-May 4

The consensus is that a more efficient and effective distribution
of clean-up day permits is required.

Permits could be distributed out of Ramsey City Hall. A master
list of households would be used to keep track of those households
receiving a permit. Proof of residence would be required.

Permits would be 'distributed for the two weeks prior to the clean-up
day with a night-time distribution of Monday & Wednesday one week and
Tuesday & Thursday the other week being manned by KAB volunteers.
Permits would also be available at City Hall on Saturday, April 28,
during the Green Business Expo.

Suggestions for various charges for disposal and the permit follow.
There is some discussion that a minimal charge for the permit may
prevent abuse of its use. The money generated could go for the purchase
of recycling containers for the citywide curbside collection program.

1st suggestion

Permit cost

Major appliances

Tires

Car batteries

Glass, aluminum,
newspaper, metal

Brush chipping

Leaves, grass, prunings

4'

$5.00

/$5 for each add'l

../$1 for each add'l

Free

Free (to be recycled]

Free (other sites)

?

2nd suggestion
Free

Free

$i 50¢ disposal 50¢ P
Free

Free (to be recycled)

Free (other sites)

?

Residents will receive information with permit on allowable items.
Also, they will be instructed to source separate recyclable items
and to have these items at the top of their loads for easy access.

Brush chipping sites will be identified so those people will not
mistakenly get in the disposal line at the landfill.
