Community Development Director Gladhill reported the applicant lived on a flat lot that was <br />well screened and staff believed the neighbors would not be overly impacted by the accessory <br />structure. <br />Commissioner Brauer appreciated staff's efforts in bringing the accessory structure down from <br />4,000 square feet to 2,400 square feet. <br />Commissioner Andrusko believed the building size request was appropriate for this <br />neighborhood. <br />Commissioner VanScoy agreed noting the lot was well screened. <br />Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Nosan, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt Resolution #16-08-153 approving favorable Findings of Fact for the Conditional <br />Use Permit. <br />Further discussion <br />Commissioner Brauer stated he would not be supporting the request due to the fact he would like <br />to see the City address acceptable and unacceptable overages. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chairperson Bauer, Commissioners VanScoy, Nosan, and <br />Andrusko. Voting No: Commissioner Brauer. None. Absent: Commissioner Levine. <br />Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Andrusko, to recommend that <br />City Council adopt Resolution #16-08-154 allowing the accessory building to exceed the <br />maximum allowed square footage. <br />Further discussion <br />Commissioner VanScoy asked if a second driveway was required to provide access. He <br />recommended the existing driveway be extended in order to provide access to the new structure. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill stated he would make this change before the request <br />was reviewed by the City Council. <br />Motion Carried.
