I I i 24. "Percolation Rate" is th~ time rate of drop of a water surface in a test hole as specified in Section 150.014F of this chapter. 25. "Plastic Limit" is soil moisture content below which the soil may be manipulated for purposes of installing a soil treament system and above which manipulation will cause compaction and puddling. If a fragment of soil can easily be rolled into a wire one-eighth (1/8) inch in diameter, the moisture content is above the plastic l~m~t. If the soll is dry enough to be friable and falls apart ~ahen rolling it into a wire, the moisture content is below the l~m~t and the soil may be manipulated. The standard method of determining the plastic l~m~t is specified in American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO) Designation: #T 90-61. I I I I I I I I I I I I 26. "Sand" is a soil texture composed by weight of at least twenty- five per cent (25%) of very coarse, coarse, and medium sand varying in size from two (2) to 0.25 mm, less than fifty per cent (507o) of fine or very fine sand ranging in size between 0.25 and 0.05 mm, and no more than ten per cent (10%) of particles smaller than 0.05 mm. 27. "Seepage Pit" (or leaching pit or dry well) is an 'underground pit into which a sewage tank discharges sewage or other liquid waste and from which the liquid seeps into the surrounding soil through the bottom and openings in the side of the pit. 28. "Setback" is a separation distance maasured b~rizontally. 29. "Sewage" is any water-carried domestic, c~,,;mrcial, or agricultural waste, exclusive of footing and roof drainage or any residence, or any industry, agricultural, or cc~,~,~,~mrcial establishment or other structure, whether treated or untreated, and includes but is not limited to liquid waste produced by bathing, laundry, culinary operations and liquid wastes from toilets and floor drains. 30. "Sewage Tank" is a watertight tank used in the treatment of sewage and includes, but is not limited to, septic tanks and aerobic tanks. 31. "Sewage Tank Effluent" is that liquid which flows from a septic or aerobic tank under normal operation. 32. "Septic Tank" is any watertight covered receptacle designed and constructed to receive the discharge of sewage from a building sewer, separate solids from liquid, digest organic matter, and store solids through a period of detention, and allow the clarified liquids to discharge to a soil treatment system. 33. "Shoreland" means land located within the following distances from public waters: One thousand (1,000) feet from the normal high water mark of a lake, pond or flowage; and
