- 22 - <br /> <br /> 2. The design of the treatment/disposal facility shall be on the basis <br />of one hundred twenty-five (125) gallons of disposal per bedroom per day. <br /> <br /> 3. Infiltration or exfiltration shall not exceed one hundred (100) <br />gallons per inch of pipe di~,~ter per mile per day. <br /> <br /> 4. Cleanouts, brought flush with or above finished grade, shall be <br />provided wherever a common sewer joins an individual building sewer or piping <br />from an individual sewage tank, or every one hundred (100) feet, whichever is <br />less, unless manhole access is provided. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> 5. There shall be no physical connection between sewers and water <br />supply systems. Sewers shall be set back from water supply systems and piping <br />as required for building sewers (See Chapter 150.014B herein). Where it is not <br />possible to obtain proper separation distances, the sewer connections shall be <br />watertight and pressure tested as outlined in Chapter 150.014B. <br /> <br /> 6. Pump stations shall be watertight and h~ve manholes flush with or <br />above finished grade for cleaning and maintenance. <br /> <br />7. Manhole covers shall be so constructed as to prevent unauthorized <br /> <br />entry. <br /> <br /> 8. Pomps and pump stations shall be sized to handle peak flows and an <br />alarm system shall be provided for all p~m~ lng stations to warn of pump failure, <br />overflow, or other malfunction. <br /> <br />MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />A contract for the maintenance of all co,m~n drainfields, sewage tanks, pumps, <br />p,~p stations, sewers, and all individual tsnks connected to a commn drainfield <br />shall be maintained by the city and all persons using the system. Such <br />contracts shall be made jointly and shall continue for the life of the system. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Sewage flow shall be monitored continuously, recorded monthly, and reported <br />annually to the council. Metering can be accomplished by installation of a <br />water meter to moasure the flow to all p,~ping fixtures except the outside <br />sillcocks or, if a sewage pump is used, installation of a pump cycle counter on <br />the sewage pump. <br /> <br />Subd. 3 SEEPAGE PITS <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Seepage pits may be used for disposal of sewage effluent in the Urban Service <br />Area when such use is indicated by favorable conditions of soil, ground water <br />level, or topography, and where such use does not reduce the safety of <br />surrounding ground water supplies. The pit excavation shall terminate at least <br />three (3) feet above the highest known or calculated ground water table. <br /> <br />When two (2) or more seepage pits are used, a distribution box constructed in <br />accordance with §150.014D shall be used if the inlet inverts of the seepage pits <br />have no more than one (1) foot difference in elevation. If the difference in <br />elevation between the inlet inverts is greater than one (1) foot, the seepage <br />pits shall be connected in series. <br /> <br /> <br />
