PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA A Board of Adjustment was held Tuesday, January 24, 1984 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Thomas Kurak's request to construct a second dwelling unit on a single parcel of property. Members Present: Councilmember Jean Schlueter, Chairperson Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Gary Reimann Councilmember Sue Van Wagner Councilmember A1 Sorteberg Also Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle City Attorney William Goodrich City Engineer Peter Raatikka City Building Official Clayton Berg Reporter Carolyn Thompson CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Schlueter called the meeting to order at 7:48 p.m. Case ~1: Board Of Adjustment Variance Request; Case Of Mr. Tom Kurak: Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Mayor Gamec to adopt the findings of fact for Mr. Thomas Kurak's request to place a second dwelling on a 60 acr~.parcel of land without frontage on a public street. Motion carried. Voting Yes~ Chairperson Schlueter, Mayor Gamec, Council- members Sorteberg, Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Councilmember Reimann inquired if Mr. Kurak was aware that he is responsible for the private driveway which begins at County Road ~577 Mr. Kurak replied that he is aware of that fact. Chairperson Schlueter noted that P & Z minutes indicate Mr. Kurak, in some point in time, intends to update the road to blacktop for the purpose of subdivision and development of the property. Councilmember Schlueter inquired if Mr. Kurak was aware that a neighbor of his is requesting that the road be upgraded to Class 5 gravel and be taken over by the City. Mr. Kurak stated he had not planned on upgrading the road for at least 10 years. Councilmember Reimann suggested that it would be best if the road were upgraded to Class 5 and taken over by the City; that Mr. Kurak would then have 200' of frontage on a public road.
