I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />CASE 4~2: AUTHORiZATION TO CALL FOR BIDS FOR SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR CENTRAL <br /> <br />PARK: <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />It is requested that authorization be granted to call for bids for a sprinkler system <br />for Central Park. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be to authorize the calling for bids for the <br />above equipment· The following proposed motion is hereby submitted for your <br />consideration: <br /> <br /> authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications and calling for l~ids <br /> for a sprinkler system at Central Park. Please refer to resolution file for <br /> Resolution #84- . <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes <br /> <br />· Voting no <br /> <br />CASE #3: REQUEST FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ASSISTANCE; <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />CASE OF THE ALEXANDRA HOUSE: <br /> <br />The Alexandra House provides emergency shelter and support services to battered <br />women and children. They are requesting that Ramsey donate $3,000 from our <br />City's economic development block grant funds. Please refer to enclosure (m3-a) <br />which contains a letter with background material on the Alexandra House. <br /> <br />Council should note that back when Federal Revenue Sharing became available, <br />the Federal government cut off their grant support to these types of social <br />agencies. The reason being that localunits of government wanted to handle this <br />area and they thought they could do a better job of monitoring and making grant <br />funds available to these areas. Consequently, you do have a responsibility here <br />of looking into this area and seeing if there is a need. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of the Alexandra <br />House request. The following proposed motion is hereby submitted for your con- <br />sideration: <br /> Motion by ~ ~[~' and seconded by .y~~- to adopt Resolution ~84-~ <br /> granting $ from the 1984 economic development block grant funds <br /> to the Alexandra House, Inc. Please refer to resolution file for Resolution <br /> 484- . <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes <br /> <br />· Voting no <br /> <br />CASE #4: APPOINTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEMBER: <br /> <br />At their February 8, 1984 meeting, the Economic Development Commission <br />interviewed the following citizens of Ramsey to fill the vacancy on the EDC <br />left by Mr. Joseph Sentyrz: <br /> <br />1) Mr. Glen Hardin, 17Z30 Zeolite Street NW <br />Z) Mr. Paul Johnson, 165Z0 Germanium Street NW <br />3) Mr. Dale Ketchum, 16431 Azurite Street NW <br />4) Mr. Ken Wagner, 8410 - 156th Lane NW <br /> <br />Please refer to enclosure (D3-b) which contains the above applicant's letters <br />of application. <br /> <br /> <br />
