Pursuant to our Joint Cooperation Agreement for <br />the CDBG program with Ramsey, Anoka County is notifying you of your right to <br />"opt-out" and terminate that agreement. <br /> <br />The County's current Joint Cooperation Agreement with Ramsey would <br />continue to remain in effect through the next three year program period unless <br />you elect to "opt out" of Anoka County's CDBG program by excluding your <br />population from the total count. Please note that if you should elect not to <br />have your population included in the total population count of Anoka County, <br />such an election will be effective for the entire three year priod during which <br />Anoka County qualifies as an urban county. Your unit of government must <br />notify both Anoka County and the area HUD office no later than March 2, <br />if you do not wish to have your community's population included in the County's <br /> <br />During 1981 through 1983, Anoka County received approximately 5.8 million <br />dollars to perform Community Development Block Grant activities in the <br />County. The entire County has benefited through the program which has <br />provided more than 75 CDBG projects such as: economic development projects <br />which have created/44 new jobs and are expected to result in at least another <br />70 within the next two years; six new senior centers; 200 homes rehabilitated <br />county-wide for very Iow income residents; assistance to two new senior and <br />handicapped housing projects; several public service activities for elderly, <br />handicapped, and unemployed; and public improvements to encourage industrial <br />growth or to benefit lower income residents. <br /> <br /> <br />
