Sokolowski Chief Judge of the Tenth District Court Courthouse Anoka, Minnesota 55303 Dear Judge Sokolowski, February 09, 198~ In accordance with Minnesota Law M.S.A. 410.05, the following is an annual report reflecting the activities of the City of Ramsey Charter Commission durin~ I1983: APRIL 2,1983- The Ramsey Coalition presented a petition to the 10th District requesting the appointment of a Charter .Commission for the City Ramsey. I I I I I MAY 12, 1983- Judge Spencer J. Sokolowski, Chief Judge of the 10th District Court, appointed 9 members to the Charter Commission. MAY 19, 1983- The appointees were sw6rn in by the City of. Ramsey Atborney, Mr. X,lilliam Goodrich. JUNE 2, 1983- The first meeting of the Ramsey Charter Commission was conducted. It was determined at that time to conduct regular Commission meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at Ramsey City Hall. JUNE 23,1983- Commissioner Roger T. Buchanan, as directed by the Charter Commission, isued a letter to Judge Sokolowski confirming the legal establishmerf~ of the Charter Commission. SEPT. 8,1983- The 1st draft of-the charter for the City of Ramsey was complete~. SEPT.28,1983- The 1st Public Hearing on the proposed charter for the City of Ramsey .was conducted. Citizen input was received and recorded for consideration and inclusion into the charter. 10,1983- The Charter Commission directed its Legal council, Mr. ~ilhurD Dorn~ to perform a legal review of the redrafted charter. iNOV. Since that time the comments from Mr. Dorn have been incorporated into ~he charter. It is anticipated that a 2nd Public Hearing of the revised charter will be conducted on February 15,1984 and a final legal review will be conducted by Mr. Dom before submittal to a vote by the citizens of Ramsey.
