TO:

RE:

DATE:

Mayor and Councilmembers

Park Board Priorities for Central Park

January Z0, 1984

As per your request, the Park and Recreation Commission, at their regular
meeting of January 19, 1984, again reviewed their recommended priorities
for Central Park. Mr. Ted Rouse, President of RYAA, was at the meeting
and presented the Commission with a letter outlining how they felt the park
development should be staged. The Park Board concurred with the RYAA's
recommendations and made a motion that the letter be forwarded to you.
Accordingly, the RYAA's letter outlining their priorities is attached.

Again as before, the first item is irrigation. However, the Commission asked
that the possibility of using the Sorteberg well be further researched.
Commissioner Lichter felt that if the well were large enough to supply both
the needs of the park and Mr. Sorteberg, then we should attempt to negotiate
an agreement with him.

The City Engineer will be able to address this issue in greater detail if you
so desire.

CRB:pjc
