To address these concerns, we had initiated split
sampling with the ETC Laboratories. That sampling suggests that the
amount of VOC's is less than that reported by the SERCO Laboratories.
Additional work will be performed in July to confirm this fact.

We will continue to seek out information regarding driller's logs and
to prepare an inventory of off-site wells which are downgradient to the
landfill property. Because of the unavailability of driller's logs,
the preparation of the well inventory will take longer than
anticipated. We will submit the inventory with the July monitoring
data. We feel the above program will satisfy the requirements of your
April 16, 1984 letter. If the suggestions contained in this letter are
acceptable we would appreciate a response indicating such so that we
may proceed with same. If you have any additional questions please do
not hesitate to contact us.

Donald Otter
General Manager
Anoka Municipal Sanitary Landfill

Sincerely,

District Engineer
Environmental Management

DO/HAK/mkh

Enclosures

cc: Terry Miller, Site Manager - Anoka Landfill
Robert Hutchinson - Anoka County
