8. That the Applicant initially requested a Conditional Use Permit to allow for construction
of a fifty (50) foot by eighty (80) foot, or 4,000 square foot detached accessory structure.
9. That the Applicant worked with staff to arrive at a more reasonable request that would
balance their needs with the concerns of the city.
10. That the intended use of the building is to provide storage for the following items: a thirty-
three (33) foot motor home, lawn care equipment, snowmobiles, a snow blower, 4-
wheelers, bicycles and other sporting equipment, and future vehicles. And that with the
exception of the motor home all other items are currently being stored in the existing
accessory buildings.
11. That the Applicant had applied for a variance to allow a mean gable height of eighteen (18)
feet, which was tabled by the Planning Commission, who directed the Applicant to work
with staff to arrive upon an alternative building design that meets their storage needs while
complying with City Code.
12. That based on the request for an oversized, detached accessory building, the Applicant shall
be required to install a driveway, compliant with the standards in City Code Section 117-
111, to access the detached accessory building.
13. That the detached accessory building will comply with all applicable setbacks.
14. That the proposed use will not be unduly dangerous or otherwise detrimental to persons
residing or working in the vicinity of the use or to the public welfare.
15. That the proposed use will not substantially adversely impair the use, enjoyment, or market
value of any surrounding property.
16. That the proposed use will be designed, constructed, operated, and maintained so as to be
harmonious and appropriate in appearance with the existing or intended character of the
general vicinity and whether such a use will not change the essential character of that area.
17. That the proposed use will not be hazardous or disturbing to existing neighboring uses.
18. That the proposed use will be served adequately by public facilities and services such as
highways and streets.
19. That the proposed use will not create excessive additional requirements at public cost for
public facilities and services
20. That the proposed use will not be detrimental to the economic welfare of the community.
RESOLUTION #16-08-153
