CC Regular Session 4. 11. <br />Meeting Date: 09/27/2016 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #16-09-178 to Hire Engineering Interns <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to request authorization to hire two fall Engineering Interns. The City has determined <br />that the workload demands within the Engineering Department continue to require the support provided by the <br />Engineering Interns. <br />The process to fill intern positions includes an open competitive recruitment, interviews, background checks, <br />pre -employment testing, City Council approval to hire and on -boarding. <br />As a result, staff selected two fall interns to complete the Department's annual hiring needs. The candidates, Ms. <br />Michaela Bebeau and Mr. Kyle Matuseski have both passed the pre -employment screenings and staff recommends <br />hiring them. <br />Notification: <br />Intern pay: The intern pay scale ranges from $12.00 per hour to $14.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Option #1 To hire the selected 2016 Temporary Engineering Interns. <br />Option #2: Not moving ahead with hiring the Temporary Engineering Interns.
