Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-04-104 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #3-29, MSA STREETS IN RAMSEY TOWN CENTER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on March 9, 2004, City Council adopted Resolution #04-03-066 approving <br />the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #03-29, <br />bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the nine lowest quotes that were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br />Glenn Rehbein Excavating <br />S.R. Louis construction, Inc. <br />LaTour Construction <br />Northdale Construction <br />Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br />$4,668,665.93 <br />$4,834,392.43 <br />$4,959,861.13 <br />$4,962,636.80 <br />$4,970,966.70 <br />$4,987,632.30 <br />$5,127,009.60 <br />$5,171,282.12 <br />$5,211,942.70 <br /> <br />Engineers Estimate: <br /> <br />$4,996,919.50 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Glenn Rehbein Excavating is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Glenn Rehbein Excavating in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />construction of Improvement Project #03-29 in the amount of $4,668,665.93. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br /> <br /> <br />
