PW CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER CHANGE ORDER TO GLEN REHBEIN COMPA1N~IES FOR <br />SUNWOOD DRIVE NW AND RHINESTONE STREET NW IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT 03-29 <br /> By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />This project was authorized for construction of MSA Streets in Ramsey Town Center. <br />The work includes extension of trunk sanitary through the Ramsey Town Cen~er Project. <br />The sanitary sewer'pipe to be installed is 30". The pipe was connected to the existing <br />system on the west side of Ramsey Boulevard at 147 Avenue. The existing line is 27". <br />This was known and it was planned that the line would need to be changed to 30" pipe in <br />the future. Inspection of the line under Ramsey Boulevard indicated that the pipe had a <br />6" sag between manholes. <br /> <br />Ramsey Boulevard Mil be reconstructed in 2005. The contractor had to dewater to <br />install the new pipe for Ramsey Town Center that connects to the existing manhole. The <br />contractor has the equipment and pipe onsite at this time. It seems lo~cal.to replace the <br />pipe under Ramsey Boulevard now while the contractor is onsite and before the street is <br />reconstructed rather than come back and dewater in 2005 for a short length of pipe. <br />There is additional 27" pipe on the east side of Ramsey Boulevard that will need to be <br />replaced in the future. Replacing this section of pipe now will eliminate the need to dig <br />into the newly reconstructed street. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staffrecommends approval of Change Order #1 to Project 03-29. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend to City Council approval of Change Order #1 to Improvement <br />Project #03-29 in the amount of $16,847.20. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br />Public Works Director <br />Assistant Public Works Director <br /> <br />PW: 06/15/04 <br /> <br /> <br />
