Following a public hearing this ordinance is
intended to enhance the safety of the City's street system. This ordinance would primarily
provide a clearance zone so no bushes, fences or structures are within the vision clearance
triangle, which would extend 30 inches to nine feet above the top of the curb. The code includes
a grandfather clause which states that existing buildings shall not be considered an obstruction.
Landscaping within the vision clearance triangle which is in existence prior to the date of
adoption of the ordinance would be viewed on a case by case basis.

Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:33 p.m. in order to
conduct a public hearing.

City Council/June 8, 2004
