2) Trappers Ridge Access

City Administrator Norman reviewed that the Trappers Ridge Access was discussed during a
Council worksession on March 30, 2004. The Council authorized staff to contract with an
appraisal service to determine appraisal costs for tree losses on the 160th Lane extension and the
appraisal of outright acquisition of 160th Lane from the private property owners. Staff has
received the first of the appraisals and is still waiting for the appraisal on the cost to acquire the
property. Tree loss appraisal comes to $2,700 for the Dusbabek trees and $1,700 for the Kaas'
trees.

City Attorney Goodrich indicated staff wanted the Council to see the appraisals prior to them
being given to the property owners.

Councilmember Zimlnerman stated City crews did not cut the trees down; it was done by a
pti vate developer.

City Administrator Norman stated the trees were cut down with City permission.

City Attorney Goodrich advised it is not absolute either way if the City would be at fault with a
lawsuit. The appraisals for the land will come in next.

Councilmember Cook suggested the City pay for the trees and the private developer pay for the
right-of-way to the Dusbabeks and Kaas.

Councilmember Zimmennan asked if the private developer has contacted the property owners to
determine if he could get a driveway easement.

Councilmember Strommen indicated she does not have a definitive answer yet.

3) Golf Tournament Signs

Mayor Gamec reported Associate Planner Wald has indicated staff would like to have signs made
for the Economic Development Golf Tournament. The cost would be $721.00 and the signs
would be used each year. If the Council is in agreement with this, it will be placed on a consent
agenda for approval.

Thc consensus of the Council was to direct staff to place the approval of the signs for the
Economic Development Golf Tournament on a consent agenda for Council approval.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL

Mayor Gamec noted the parking ramp tour is scheduled for Monday at 8:00 a.m.

ADJOURNMENT

City Council Work Session/June 15, 2004
