I
I

i
I
I
!
I
I
I
I
I
!
I
i
I
I
I
!
I

Councilmember Sorteberg stated that $6000-$7000 per year should be used
to solve internal problems rather than on another plan to set on a shelf.

Mayor Gamec stated that he assumed this watershed plan would alleviate
internal problems and it doesn't; we already have scenic ordinance and
wetlands ordinance and this watershed plan would just be another ordinance
enforcing ordinances.

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Mayor Gamec to adopt
Resolution #84-43 that Mr. Gene Merriam be contacted regarding amending
State law to exclude certain cities from having to form a watershed.
(Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #84-43).

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg and
$chlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers R~imann and Van Wagner.

Mayor Gamec brought up the subject of the 'Toast To Your Health' party
sponsored by the Chemical People Task Force of Ramsey and their request
for funds to be used for this party and stated he has talked with the
Police Department and they think it is a worthwhile cause and have no
problem with making a $200 donation from the Police fund.

Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg that the City
of Ramsey make a $200 donation to the Ramsey Chemical People Task Force to
be used for their 'Toast To Your Health' event; further, that this $200
be taken from the Police Fund.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg and
Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Reimann and Van Wagner.

Councilmember Schlueter inquired if Council is going to one or two regular
meetings per month.

Council consensus is to conduct two regular meetings per month for at least
a couple of months.

Mr. Goodrich reminded Council of the Workshop meeting scheduled for March 14,
1984 at 7:30 p.m. at which the firm of Holmes and Graven will be making a
presentation.

Mayor Gamec brought up the subject of the community sign and stated that
there are very important community events that should be posted rather
than regular established council and commission meetings.

Council consensus is that special community events and special city meetings
only will be posted on the community sign.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to
adjourn this regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg and
Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Reimann and Van Wagner.

The meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.

C/March 12, 1984
