(Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #84-36). Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Oouncilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, $chlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Case ~2: Authorization To Call For Bids For S~rinkler System For Central Park: Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to adopt Resolution #84-37 authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications and calling for bids for a sprinkler system at Central Park. (Please refer to resolution file for ~esolution %84-37). Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Case 03: Request For Economic Development Block Grant Assistance; Case Of The Alexandra House: Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to adopt Resolution #84-38 granting $3000.00 from the 1984 economic development block grant funds to the Alexandra House, Inc. (Please refer to resolution file for Resolution %84-38). I I I I i I I I I I Further Discussion: Councilmember Reimann stated that the City cannot afford to provide items within the City and all of a sudden we give away $3000.00. Mr. Schnelle stated that Revenue Sharing did away with small grants on the basis that communities would accept their responsibilty and designate portions of their CDBG funds for such causes. Mr. Schnelle suggested that Council might set a policy to deal with situations of this type and pointed out that granting use of City Hall for church services is a government grant in a manner of speaking. Mayor Gamec stated that he firmly believes in the Alexandra House, but how many organizations should the City contribute to? Each Councilmember has their favorite organization to which they would like to contribute. Mr. Schnelle suggested that Council appoint a co~umittee to work out a policy. Councilmember Van Wagner stated that she has been informed by the City Police Department that animal control and domestic.~roblems are the largest problem areas in Ramsey, in that order. Councilmember Van Wagner withdraws her motion. Councilmember Schlueter with- draws her second to the motion. Councilmember Reimann suggested that donations to community organizations be placed on the Council/Commission Chairperson/Staff workshop agenda. Case %4: Appointment Of Economic Development Commission Member: Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to approve of appointing Mr. Glen Hardin to fill the facancy created by Mr. Joe Sentyrz' resignation from the Economic Development Commission. This unexpired term will expire on January 31, 1985. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. C/Feb~ry 28, 1984
