When it is complete, Staff will recommend
to Council and DNR the adoption of an ordinance and included will be the
wetlands classifications. The City will get the input from concerned citizens
at the public hearing to be conducted.

Councilmember Schlueter brought up the subject of Environmental Assessment
Worksheets and stated that she does not feel an EAW would be necessary for
all sewer and water projects coming into Ramsey but she would like to Planning
and Zoning require an EAW in the PUD ordinance, based on need. If the State
requires an EAW, then it should also be incorporated in Ramsey's ordinance.

Mr. Schnelle replied that it would be impossible to restate what the State
requires at a city level.

Councilmember Sorteberg inquired as to why it would be more important to
require an EAW in the PUD ordinance than in the platting ordinance?

Councilme~ber Schlueter stated that if an EAW is required by State law, then
it should be on Ramsey's books also.

Mr. Schnelle stated that he would place on Planning and Zoning Commission
agenda discussion of including an EAW in the PUD ordinance.

Mayor Gamec stated that there is a possibility of a new business coming into
Ramsey that will deal in recycling.

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner
to schedule the next Council/Oommission Chairperson/Staff workshop for
March 5, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. and reschedule the next regular Council meeting
from March 13, 1984 to March 12, 1984 at 7:30 p.m.

Motion carried.
