I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
!

Minutes - Quad City Recreational Board Meeting
Page Three

the City of Andover would be in regarding their grant applications, whether
it would be planned~urbanization, free standing growth center or rural growth
center.

s

The next item of discussion was that members of the committee felt that a
representative from AYAA, RYAA, or Champlin would be very beneficial on
this recreation committee, whereby they could explain some of their needs
and the lines of communication could be opened up. One of the other ques-
tionswhich was discussed was whether or not it would be necessary to in-
volve the Community Education people. Mr. Brandenburg stated that being
this committee is dealing strictly with the facilities and not organized
recreation that community education has no jurisdiction on this and it
would be best not to involve them with this committee. The only person
who would need information or some involvement~would be Fritz Anderson
who does the planning and scheduling.

The last item of discussion was the scheduling of the next meeting. The
next m~eting is scheduled to be at the Anoka City Hall March 5 at 7:30
p.m. A reminder should be sent out the last week in February to the mem-
bers of the Recreational Committee. For this meeting, each community was ·
asked to put together a ten minute overview on their cities park system,
the progress, operation and projected development. A1 Zahn stated that
he would contact the AYAA for their representative and Denny Donovan said
he would contact the RYAA for their representative. We will need to con-
tact the representative from Champlin to see if the Champlin Athletic As-
sociation would like to be involved.

Respectfully,

hutch Brandenburg /}
Superintendent of Parks, v
Recreation and Maintenance

cc:

City Council
Mayor ltostetler
Park Board
Jerry Dulgar
Mark Lenz
Patricia Lindquist
Daniel Hartman
oyot Carlson
d Schnelle
