They discussed whether <br />or not Mr. Sorteberg requires full capacity of the well for his farmland <br />and whether or not Mr. Sorteberg plans to develop that land in the near <br />futu.re, in which event he would no longer require the well. Commission <br />consensus is that City Engineer Raatikka ~ursue alternatives along this <br />line. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Lichter and seconded by Commissioner Hetland to <br />adopt RYAA's List Of Central Park Priority Items dated January 19, 1984 <br />and to transmit to Council as the Park Board's recommended development <br />priority items at Central Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Commissioner <br /> <br />Chairman Donovan inquired if the Commission consensus is that the major <br />thrust of funds should be directed towards development of Central Park? <br /> <br />Commission consensus is that the major thrust of development should be <br />at Central Park even though it does not qualify for LAWCON grants and <br />Raudio development park does. When the Raudio park is clearly defined, <br />grants can be applied for. <br /> <br />Case #4: Issues Paper On.Local:park'Grants: Metropolitan CounCil Review <br /> An~ GrantPrOgram'Adminlstrat'ion: <br /> <br />Ms. Beyer stated that the approval for park grants format is being <br />considered for changes. Ramsey's written input in favor of those changes <br />has been included. The Task Force recommendation is to leave the <br />requirements as they are currently set up. <br /> <br />Chairman Donovan volunteered to prepare another letter, putting Ramsey <br />on record, regarding inequities in the grant formula for distribution. <br />This letter will be submitted for consideration at the open meeting <br />scheduled for February 6, 1984. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec was present and stated that the hockey rinks are doing very <br />well this year, but consideration should be givento extending the <br />hours of skating next year. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested that the Park Board send a letter of appreciation <br />to the hockey fathers, c/o Tim Kelsey, for all their help in flooding <br />rinks this year. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec also noted that the two rinks at Central Park are also getting <br />a lot of use. <br /> <br />Chairman Donovan requested Ms. Beyer send a letter of appreciation to <br />Mr. Tim Kelsey for posting in the warming house at Ramsey Elementary <br />School for all the fathers involved in rink flooding to read. <br /> <br />P & R/January 19, 1984 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
