I
I
i
I
I
I
'1
I

I
I
I
I
I

I
I
I'
I

COMMISSION BUSINESS

Chairman Heitman noted that as a result of tonight's public meeting, the Charter
Commission has requested an alternative to 8.05.02 from Mr. Schnelle and that
he would like Council's input regarding Charter Revision 96.

Commissioner Greenberg noted that there are numerous minor corrections necessary
in the charter, such as typos.

Commissioner Bauerkemper suggested that after all revisions have been made to
the charter, that it be submitted to a professional typist for typing and clean-
up.

Discussion ensued regarding the likelihood of Council setting an election date
60 days after receipt of charter rather than 90 days.

Commissioner Gamec inquired as to why the people who are in such a hurry to see
the charter voted on,'don'~ ~come forWard and state so; he Only hears from the
people who want the election delayed. If the Charter Commission would approach
Council with a document they have confidence in, Council may agree to set an
election prior to 90 days.

Commissioner Bauerkemper stated that Charter commission minutes dealing with
Section 8.05.02 should be reviewed in order to refresh our memory as to why
we wrote it the way we did.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Lichter and seconded by Commissioner Buchanan to adjourn
this special meeting of the Ramsey Charter Commission.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Heitman, commissioners Lichter, Sieber,
Bauerkemper, Data, Greenberg, Buchanan and Gamec. Voting No: None. Absent:
Commissioner Titterud.

The meeting adjourned at 11:18 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Sylvia Frolik
Secretary

Sp CC/February 15, 1984
Public Meeting
