The discussion centered around the objectives of the board <br />and when and how often the board should meet. It was decided by the <br />members present that the board would, start with the objectives below <br />from the December 8 sub-committee organizational meeting: <br /> <br />To compose a park analysis for ail communities explaining the <br />recreation and programming offered to the public and its loca- <br />tions. <br /> <br />B. To alleviate duplication of facilities and programs where not <br /> needed. <br /> <br />To evaluate park construction alternatives which migh~ best serve <br />the total public area of these communities and the residents using <br />the facilities for various programs. <br /> <br />To develop guidelines for long range planning of recreatiomal <br />facilities within the communities emphasizing the importance-of <br />meeting the needs of the service area. <br /> <br />The members asked for a copy of the Fall Park Facility Use Analysis and <br />a copy of our Comprehensive Park Plan. Items of discussion: <br /> <br />Mr. Donovan pointed out that Ramsey's park plan consists primarily <br />.of large open areasfor passive recreation. The point that }tr. Dono- <br />van expressed was the fact that Ramsey is a large area and'most of <br />the citizens have playground apparatus in their own yards. Their <br />major need is to change from local or neighborhood parks to an ac- <br />tive recreation athletic center. Therefore, the thrust of their <br />development has been in the construction and development of their <br /> <br />of Anokc <br /> <br /> <br />
