I <br />I <br /> <br />CASE #2: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION ORDERING STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br /> <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />#84-11: <br /> <br />This issue has been before Council at different times since July of 1978 in regards <br />to the City accepting Magnesium Street NW as a City street. The City has stated <br />that they will do this when the street is brought up to City standards. Accordingly, <br />the City received a petition dated February 10, 1984 from some of the citizens <br />who reside there requesting that the City do something. This was before Council <br />on February 28, 1984. <br /> <br />Council's action at the above meeting was to order a feasibility study and call <br />for a public hearing on accomplishing the following to bring this street up to <br />City standards: <br /> <br />a) Acquire property to get proper street width. <br />b) Proper surfacing of roadway· <br /> <br />The feasibility report shows the costs required to bring the street up to City <br />standards. It doesn't show cost of land acquisition if this should have to be the <br />case. <br /> <br />The following documents are hereby submitted for your information on this <br />case as enclosure (DY.-b): <br /> <br /> a) Petition from residents dated February 10, 1984 <br /> b) Council Resolution ~84-33 dated February ZS, 1984 in response to petition <br /> c) Council Resolution ~84-56 receiving feasibility report and ordering public <br /> hearing <br /> d) Public hearing notice <br /> e) List of citizens notified of public hearing <br /> f) Feasibility report <br />Administrator's Comments: Even though Council received a petition, I think <br />this is a project we should treat as one that you are ordering in and should act <br />to bring this street up to City standards. My reasons for this is that we are <br />generating a lot of legal and engineering costs and regular Staff time every time <br />this comes before Council. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of the project by <br />resolution. If you disapprove, you should state reason why so that we have it <br />on record. The following proposed motion is hereby submitted for your <br />consideration: <br /> <br />Motion by and seconded by to adopt Resolution ~84- <br />ordering improvement and preparation of plans and specifications for Street <br />Improvement Project ~84-11.
