I I I I I I I I CASE #4: AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF BACKSTOPS FOR BALLFIELDS; It is requested that Council authorize the funding for construction of the backstops for ballfields. The City has authorized the purchase of the material to construct backstops but we don't have any volunteer labor to accomplish said task. Council Actiom: Your action will be to allow the City to go for price quotes to accomplish this project. The following proposed motion is hereby submitted for your consideration: Motion by and seconded by to authorize the City of Ramsey to get price quotes to construct ~ backstops for ballfields. Further, to authorize the City Administrator to accept the lowest or best price quote. Motion carried. Voting yes . Voting no CASE #5: APPOINTING OF A COUNCILMEMBER TO SERVE ON A JOINT HIGHWAY TASK I I I I I I I FORCE (RAMSEY, ANOKA~,CHAMPLIN AND DAYTON) TO STUDY LONG-TERM NEEDS REGARDING TRAFFIC ON T.H. 169: Enclosure (DZ-1) contains a proposed resolution and also a letter from the City of Anoka requesting that Ramsey, Anoka, Champlin and Dayton establish a task force consisting of an elected official from each community to address the following transportation needs over the next 10 to 15 years: a) Ferry Street between Mississippi River and T.H. 10 bypass in Anoka b) Rerouting of T.H. 47 Coundl Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of appointing an elected official to this task force that the City of Anoka wants to have created by the above communities. The following proposed motion is hereby submitted for your consideration: Motion by and seconded by to adopt Resolution #84- appointing Councilmember to serve on the Joint Highway Task Force (Ramsey, Anoka, Champlin and Dayton) to study transportation needs on certain highways. Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #84- . Motion carried. Voting yes Voting no Note: We should insist that minutes be maintained of all Task Force meetings and proposed highway changes so that we have them available as future planning tools. CASE ~0: APPROVAL OF FIRE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF RAMSEY AND CITY I I OF ANOKA: It is requested that Council approve of the 1984 fire contract between the City of Ramsey and City of Anoka. Further, that Council authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to sign said document.
