There was none. <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember LeTourneau, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Riley, LeTourneau, Kuzma, <br />and Williams. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Johns and Shryock. <br />The public hearing was closed at 7:25 p.m. <br />Council Business <br />Mayor Strommen appreciated the efforts of staff in order to make this pro -active rather than <br />punitive. She also appreciated the approach of Community Development Director Gladhill to <br />engage landlords and get them involved in the process, noting that in the past this has been a <br />contentious topic but tonight the lack of speakers at the public hearing is proof of the efforts staff <br />has made to involve people. <br />Councilmember LeTourneau agreed that this approach has worked to protect both the City and <br />the landlords. <br />Motion by Councilmember LeTourneau, seconded by Councilmember Riley, to introduce <br />Ordinance #16-09 amending the residential rental licensing program. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers LeTourneau, Riley, Kuzma, <br />and Williams. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Johns and Shryock. <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />7.01: Adoption of the Draft 2016-2018 Planning Commission Work Plan <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reviewed the staff report and recommendation from <br />the Planning Commission to approve the 2016 Planning Commission Work Plan. <br />Councilmember Riley stated that the Council has reviewed this before and believed the changes <br />that arose from the joint worksession were beneficial. <br />Councilmember Kuzma stated that he appreciates the work that the Planning Commission does. <br />Councilmember LeTourneau stated that the Work Plan includes a line which echoes the mission <br />of the City Council and believed that to be appropriate as not only does it mirror the work of the <br />Council but also shows how the groups are committed to the community. He noted that most of <br />the Boards and Commissions also have their own work plan.
