I

'Mr. and Mrs. Michael LamDrecht
Page Two

during our sampling wQrK that day. No contamination by any other organic com-
pounds was noted in any of the other residential wells samples, which further
reinforces the conclusion of laboratory introduction of the methylene chloride.
Although field planks were carried Dy the Waste Manag~nent-s~mpler, as a result
of a miscommunicatipn between Waste Management and ETC, the field blanks for the
Waste Management sample set were not analyzed. Although field blank results for
the Waste Management data are not available, we are confident that the methylene
chloride concentrations reported by ETC are also a result of laboratory contami-
nation and are not reflective of the water quality in your well water.

We hope that this letter and our recent telephone conversation answer any
questions you may have regarding the analyses from your well. However, if you
have any further questions, please contact me at 612/296-7266.

Sincerely,

Michael Wiltfang, Hydrologist II
Hazardous Waste Permit and Review Unit
Regulatory Compliance Section
Solid and Hazardous Waste Division

MCW:paK

m
