No person, except authorized <br />City employees or a memeber of the Fire Department in case of <br />fire, shall be allowed to open any fire hydrant in the water <br />system for any purpose whatsoever, without first securing <br />suthortzatton from the City. <br /> <br /> 210.0221 Variances. The Council may permit variances from <br />the strict appliance of any of the provisions of this ordinance <br />if it is satisfied that there are special ctrcumstaces or <br />cnditions affecting the premises for which the variance is <br />requested and that the granting of such variance will not <br />materially affect adversely health, safety or general welfare or <br />public or private property. Any variation permitted under this <br />provision must be noted on the permit. <br /> <br /> 210.0222 Penalties. Any person violating anyprovtston of <br />this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be punished by a <br />fine not exceeding $700.00 or by imprisonment not exceeding <br />ninety (90) days, or both. Each day the voilation continues <br />shall constitute a separate offense. Any person violating any <br />of the provision of this ordinance may also be held liable to <br />the City for any expense, loss or damage occasioned the City by <br />reason of such violation. <br /> <br />Section 2. Effective Date <br /> <br /> This ordinance bescomes effective thrity days after its <br />publication.
