Box 67 Anoka, Minnesota 55303 Dear Mr. Miller: As you are aware on June 13 and 14, 1984, several residential and landfill monitoring wells were sampled and will be subsequently analyzed for various elements and compounds. In the case of monitoring well W-8, the landfill office well and eight residential wells, the Minnesota Polllution Control Agency (MPCA) will sample for subsequent analysis of 54 halogenated and nonhalogenated volatile organic compounds. Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. (WMMI) will split samples with the MPCA at monitoring well W-8, the landfill office well and seven of the eight residential wells for subsequent analysis of 52 of the 54 compounds, described above. The reason for the vari- ability in the number of volatile compounds which will be analyzed is that the laboratory used by WMMI will report total xylenes rather than separately quantifying m-xylene, p-xylene and o-xylene. In addition, WI4MI will sample landfill monitaring wells W-1 through W-3, W-6A, W-7, W-8 and the Miller residential well for subsequent analysis of the parameters contained in Part II.C.4. of Minnesota Solid Waste Disposal Facility Permit SW-94. WMMI will sample landfill monitoring wells W-1 through W-3, W-6A and W-7 for analysis of the parameters outlined in Part II.C.5. of Permit SW-94. It is understood that the round of sampling and analyses to be undertaken by WMMI will be in lieu of the July, 1984 sampling event described in Part II.C.6. of Permit SW-94.
