I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />QUAD CITIES CABLE COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION <br /> <br /> May 17, 1984 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission was <br />called to order at Anoka City Hall by Chair Dan Hartman at 5:02 p.m. with <br />members: Don Jacobson, Pat Lindquist, Don Melrose, Jerry Dulgar, Dean Rick, <br />John Beissel, Gary Reimann and Alternate Ben Deemer present. Representing <br />Group W: Terry Lovaas and Jim Pangman. Staff present: Terry O'Connell and <br />Tom Creighton. Guests present: Oean& Chad Burnett. <br /> <br /> Tom Creighton distributed his bill and explained that it was for work done in <br /> <br /> · September 1983. Jerry Dulgar suggested that Terry O'Connell put together a <br />~' ~cash flow study and expenditure projection for the Commission and appropriate <br /> '~ between the four cities and have Group W give the Commission an <br /> this <br /> amount <br /> advance. Mr. Creighton explained that the cities would have to incur the <br /> expenses out of their budgets before Group W will approve the advance. It was <br /> moved by Jerry Dulgar, seconded by Pat Lindquist to pay the following bills: <br /> Anoka County Union - $834.80; Naegele - $1,020.00; Champlin Dayton Press - $247.80; <br /> and hold Tom Creighton's bill until the next meeting when he will re-do the bill <br /> to further expl.~in his charges. All voted in favor. Motion carried. ~//c~'~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Don Melrose, seconded by Don Jacobson to approve the minutes <br /> of the April 19, 1984 regular meeting. Ail voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Terry O'Connell explained the letter to Mr. Johnston regarding his attempt to <br />receive cable t.v. Mr. O'Connell said that the situation was taken care of. <br />Group W is looking into the portion of the ordinance regarding service drops <br />longer than 200 ft. Mr. O'Connell explained that one area in Ramsey is not <br />served by cable. <br /> <br />Ms. Thompson suggested that the Commission call a special meeting to deal with <br />line extensions paid for if the homeowner moves and service drops longer than <br />200 ft. Mr. Creighton stated that Group W doesn't intend to comply with the <br />line policy. Therefore, Mr. Creighton aavised Lloyd Schnelle not to comply <br />with the compromise agreement until Group W complies with the line policy. <br />After Group W gets back to Mr. Creighton with policies a special meeting will be <br />scheduled. <br /> <br />Regarding the Emergency Alert feature of the cable system, Group W failed to <br />run the line to Anoka. Mr. O'Connell stated that one city would have to <br />activate this system. Group W has signed one security contract and Terry O'Connell <br />is to meet with the WESCO people next week. The security system is suppose to <br />use phone lines, not the cable system. Mr. O'Connell suggested that this person <br />come to the next Commission meeting. <br /> <br />PTL will share time with MSN. PTL will be on from 12 noon until 9 a.m. <br />Jean Burnett felt that Group W was being very fair to add PTL. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer questioned Channel 23, why it isn't in the program guide. He felt <br />that the guide should show the 2nd tier. Terry O'Connell will check into this. <br /> <br /> <br />
