I I I I I I I I I I I TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Administrator/Clerk RE: Staff Report for June, 1984 1) Finance - The following will be covered on this item: a) Audit Report for 1983 - Mr. John Lilja will be present to review that document with the Ramsey City Council. Consequently, if you have any questions about the City's finances, you should direct those questions to Mr. Lilja of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells. He will also go over the management letter with Council. I reiterate, if any Councilmember has any questions on the City's financial status please direct th~ to Mr. Lilja. b) Cash Flow Report for May, 1983 - You have a copy of that report in your agenda. I was very satisfied with the cash balance for May. c) Revenue and Expenditure report for May, 1984 - You have a copy of that in your agenda. 2) Workshop Meeting to review Charter - I think Councilmembers, Commission Chairperson should meet for a Workshop Session on July 10, 1984 to review Charter so that you are cognizant of the changes that will occur with the Charter. Now, the July 10, 1984 Council meeting is a regular Council meet- ing night, consequently, you will have to designate a time to commence the Workshop Session. 3) General - The following is hereby submitted on this item: a) Planner - We have received some very fine applications for this position and we will commence work on this in July and it will be coming to Council in August. b) Budget - This will be the priority project for July and August. The Charter has directed more detail budget planning than we had before and consequently, we may be asking for an extension of time. I think other duties will be placed on the back burner until we complete the total budget document. We won't ask for an extension unless we really need it. c) Amending City Code to be in compliance with the Charter will be another important task. We have 90 days to get this in compliance and this also is a major undertaking.
