Carson, Vice President <br />Chateau Construction, Inc. <br />17551 Round Lake Boulevard <br />Anoka, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Re: Sewer Service Problem <br /> Flintwood Hills 2nd Addition <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Carson: <br /> <br />Attached is a copy of a daily report of extra work from Arcon <br />Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $2,431.26 for the repair <br />of the sewer service at Cobalt Circle. <br /> <br />As you are aware, Arcon Construction Company, Inc. corrected the <br />problem with the understanding that they would absorb the cost if the <br />problem was caused by their workmanship or failed materials. You were <br />also told that in the event that the problem was not Arcon's, you <br />would probaly be billed for the work. <br /> <br />Upon exposing the service pipe, it was found that the service had been <br />pulled apart several inches and plugged with dirt. Our inspection of <br />the main line sewer indicated that some wastewater and seepage of <br />groundwater was occurring prior to exposing the service. We had <br />tested and inspected the line last summer after it was installed and <br />did not observe any seepage of groundwater in the line. Based on <br />those inspections, we would conclude that the service pipe was pulled <br />apart after installation by Arcon and our initial inspection last <br />summer and prior to the occupancy of the home. <br /> <br />civil t, mtmicipal · planning · soils · land surveying · landscape architecn,~re <br /> <br /> <br />
