Matthew Minnesota AFSCME, Council No, 14 267 tafayette Noad South St. Paul, ~4N 55107 Status/Proposal for Labor Agreement Between the City of Ramsey and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council No. 14, Local No. 2454 Dear Mr. Nelson: ~hroughout the past few weeks, I have attenpted to obtain the latest information from the Department of Labor as it relates to the Fair Labor Standards Act and compensatory time off. [k~ever, I understand that rules and regulations relating to the "new" Fair ~hor Standards act provisions are currently being developed. As ! indicated at the time of our meeting, ! had no problem with the inclusion of language for oompensatory time off into our contract. ! know that you ~eill agree that it is to both parties' best interests that such language be written in consistanc7 with any regulations and/or laws that are in place. ~erefore, I would suggest that we agree to include such provisions at a later date. *Employee Status Definitions: We have both agreed that the contract needs to have definitions for the status of employees (i.e., regular full-time, t~porary full-time, regular part-time, and temporary part-time employees). Article 2, Section 2.11 includes our proposed definition for the various ~ployee status. *Fair Share: I have complied with your request to add language relating to Minne- sota Statute 179A.06, Subdivision 3 relating to fair ~hare fees. referenoe is in Article 4, Section 4.5.
