f~31PMENT NEEDS
Dave Hartley, City Administrator

5 ~in.

Background~

~here are several egui~ent items which are ~c~ed for the efficient
use of time and sp~ce within the City offices. The collective total
of the p~ojected oost for these items requires Council approval.

(lservations:

~hroughout the p~st few weeks, oonsiderable effort has been made to
"efficiently" organize the City offices. The items listed in the
motion below are intended to reduce p~perwork and the wasteful use of
t~me. (An example is that the Blastic spiral ring binder which is used
to bind the Council's agendas and other documents requires an
excessive ~ount of time to punch holes in the docmments. A thermal
binding machine does ~ot require this time and produces a document
that can be easily filed or placed on a book shelf [similar to the
doc~ent that you received at your last regular Council meeting] ).

~om~enclat~on:

~hat the Council adopt the following motion.

Council Action:

Motion to:
Authorize the City Administrator to solicit proposals and award
contracts to the lowest responsible bidder for the following
equipment and that the prices shall not exceed the estimated

price:

Desk and return
file cabinet
book shelves
Minnesota Statutes annotated
thermal binding machine
plat file cabinet

450 - 600
600 - 700
175 - 200
800 - 1100
900 - 1100
400 - 500

Review ~eckiist:

Attorney
Engineer
Administrator
Co~unity Development Di r.

Chief of ~olice
Finance Di rector
Public Works Dir.
Other
