Review of Gambling License Application by Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Accx)rding to current State law, a not-for-profit organization wishing to obtain a gambling license must do so by applying to the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board. However, prior to submitting the application to the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board, the not-for-profit organization must notify the local governing body that such an application is being ~k~de. ~he local governing body then has 30 days frc~ the receipt of the application to disallow such an activity by adopting a resolution. Please refer to enclosure (F) for information relating to this case. Action by the City Council under the current State law is only required in the event that the local governing body (City Council) wishes to object to the issuance of a gambling license to the not-for-profit organization. G. Hearing on Transfer of ~hle Television Franchise Group W Cable of Quad Cities, Inc. has requested consent to transfer the cable television franchise, as amended. A public hearing will be held by the Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission on April 9, 1986 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber of Anoka City Hall, 2015 1st Avenue North, Anoka, ~e hearing is called pursuant to the Cable Communications ordinance for the Cities of Andover, Anoka, Champlin and Ramsey for the purpose of providing an opportunity for public input on the request of Group W of Quad Cities, Inc. to consent to a transfer of a cable television franchise, as amended. Anyone having an interest in cable television communications or the transfer of the cable television franchise is invited to attend said public hearing. ~he future use of the cable television syst~ for public purpose is of a concern to many of the community leaders within the cities served k~y Group W Cable.
