This ordinance was mandated by the Department of
Natural Resources and regulates development of designated shorelands and
property along the Mississippi River (within the Critical Rivers District).
Part of the ordinance requires the City to designate a recreational trail
corridor along the Mississippi River. Designation of this trail corridor
~ require the City to acquire the necessary right-of-way and
construct the trail; it is to insure the trail right-of-way will be required
and acquired as the property along the river develops.

Observations:

Staff has proposed a pri_imary and alternate corridor for this trail; a map/
showing theses corridors will be avaii~at the meeting.

~!
