Five areas in that development <br />will need reconstruction or an overlay. The other area requiring <br />other than minor repairs was the Hall Anderson Acres plat which had <br />three areas in need of reconstruction. The other project areas will <br />require only minor patching and crack filling. <br /> <br />Mr. Mevissen has estimated the cost of the repairs in the Riverwood <br />Hills unplatted area and the Hall Anderson acres plat to be $5,000. <br />The City's Public Works Department has started to make the repairs and <br />will complete the repairs prior to seal coating. <br /> <br />I have also reviewed the cost differential in using FA-2 (pea rock) <br />aggregate vs. FA-3 (crushed granite). The cost for using granite is <br />approximately 50 percent higher than the pea rock. The estimated life <br />of granite is 30 percent longer than pea rock. Therefore, based on a <br />cost to benefit ratio, I would not recommend the use of crushed <br />granite for a seal coat aggregate.
