Absent: Co,~missio~ers <br />Muller and Fu]ts. ~, <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner l~ardin and secor~]ed by Co~mlissio~er DeLuca to reoommend <br />that City Council investigate the possibility of forming another Landfill <br />Committee to be made of one m~ber each frown City Council and all City <br />Co~]ssions and two m~mbers of the private sector; this Landfill Co~ittee <br />should have specific goals established ~y Council regarding issues dealing with <br />the landfill. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Kurak suggested that it be reco~m~ended that <br />the Landfill C~,,i,ittee be given a budget and Staff ~r at it's disposal. <br />Chairman Greenberg and Cc~wnissioner Ippel stated that Staff has always been <br />available and cooperative with the EDC and Airport Co~a~issions. Con, nissioner <br />DeLuca stated that the Landfill Committee should be in effect as long as the <br />landfill is open and operating. Con~issioner Ippel stated that the Landfill <br />Committee should be in effect permanently to address issues after site closing. <br />Chairman Greenberg noted that the motion states that the Committee should be <br />formed to address landfill issues in general and not just one issue which would <br />imply a time limit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Representative Hartinger is <br />forwarding file regarding what the House of Representatives is p~oposing on <br />these issues.
