Community Development Director's Staff Report <br /> Nay 1 986 <br /> <br />~uildin~ Official: We received approximately 140 applications <br />for this position. Tbs Personnel Committee interviewed nine <br />candidates; ! am hoping they will have a recommendation for the <br />Hay 27 Council meeting. <br /> <br />A~.~L~: Until a Building Official is hired, Lester continues <br />to do the building inspections. Attached for your information is <br />the Hay building permit report. <br /> <br />]~orthfork P.U.D.: As part of the Environmental Impact <br />Statement (ELS) process, the Hinnesota Department of <br />Transportation has indicated a preferred alignment for the <br />extension of 153rd Avenue W.W. across the railroad tracks and out <br />to Highway 10 so that 153rd can maintain its 1/SA designation. <br />Once the ElS process is complete, North Fork, Inc. plans to bring <br />in plans for the second phase of the P.U.D. <br /> <br />~uisauce Complaints: I am continuing to receive complaints on <br />junk cars, garbage, etc. Host of the complaints are resolved <br />fairly quickly, but some are referred to the City Attorney's <br />office for further action. <br /> <br />Ylintwood Hills Second Addition: As you know, Hr. Raudio is <br />requesting City participation from tax increment revenues for <br />site improvements in future phases of development of the <br /> <br />~usiness Incubator Facility: As you may know, the City of <br />Anoka hired a consulting firm to complete a study on the <br />feasibility of establishing a small business incubator facility <br />in the Anoka area. The report concluded that the Anoka area <br />would be good for such a facility and that a preferred site for <br />the facility would be the Kovar building in Hamsey. The Anoka <br />EDt approached the Ramsey EDt regarding the possibility of a <br />joint venture for this project. A subcommittee of both EDC's and <br />members from each Council and staff has been formed for further <br />review of this project. <br /> <br />Other: Hr. Bob Huller has requested that the City consider <br />establishing an additional development district and tax increment <br />district to take advantage of the development of his proposed <br />strip shopping center on the southwest corner of 167th Avenue <br />N.W. and State Highway 47. The Economic Development and Planning <br />and Zoning Commissions met on Hay 13 to discuss their concerns <br />regarding existing and future development in the City's <br />commercial/industrial area along Highway 10. The Commissions <br />agreed to meet quarterly to discuss certain related issues. <br /> <br /> <br />
