Community Development Director's Staff Report Nay 1 986 ~uildin~ Official: We received approximately 140 applications for this position. Tbs Personnel Committee interviewed nine candidates; ! am hoping they will have a recommendation for the Hay 27 Council meeting. A~.~L~: Until a Building Official is hired, Lester continues to do the building inspections. Attached for your information is the Hay building permit report. ]~orthfork P.U.D.: As part of the Environmental Impact Statement (ELS) process, the Hinnesota Department of Transportation has indicated a preferred alignment for the extension of 153rd Avenue W.W. across the railroad tracks and out to Highway 10 so that 153rd can maintain its 1/SA designation. Once the ElS process is complete, North Fork, Inc. plans to bring in plans for the second phase of the P.U.D. ~uisauce Complaints: I am continuing to receive complaints on junk cars, garbage, etc. Host of the complaints are resolved fairly quickly, but some are referred to the City Attorney's office for further action. Ylintwood Hills Second Addition: As you know, Hr. Raudio is requesting City participation from tax increment revenues for site improvements in future phases of development of the ~usiness Incubator Facility: As you may know, the City of Anoka hired a consulting firm to complete a study on the feasibility of establishing a small business incubator facility in the Anoka area. The report concluded that the Anoka area would be good for such a facility and that a preferred site for the facility would be the Kovar building in Hamsey. The Anoka EDt approached the Ramsey EDt regarding the possibility of a joint venture for this project. A subcommittee of both EDC's and members from each Council and staff has been formed for further review of this project. Other: Hr. Bob Huller has requested that the City consider establishing an additional development district and tax increment district to take advantage of the development of his proposed strip shopping center on the southwest corner of 167th Avenue N.W. and State Highway 47. The Economic Development and Planning and Zoning Commissions met on Hay 13 to discuss their concerns regarding existing and future development in the City's commercial/industrial area along Highway 10. The Commissions agreed to meet quarterly to discuss certain related issues.
