HIT TO EXPAJ[D EXISTING CRURCB ~ACILZTY; CASE OF TROTTBRO0~ GOSPEL HALL By: Anne ~orrie, Community Development Director Background: Trott Brook Gospel Rall is requesting a conditional use permit to expand the existing church facility to accommodate the growth of the congregation. Churches are not permitted uses in the R-1 Residential District. The church is proposing to put the new addition on the north end of the existing facility. The church is proposing to add on two stories, each consisting of approximately 3,000 square feet. The Planning and Zoning Co~mission conducted a public bearing on this request on May 6, 1986. Included in the reference material are the following for your information: a) Application b) Site location map c) Public hearing notice d) Properties notified e) Proposed site plan f) Proposed findings of fact g) Proposed conditional use permit agreement Obset~vations: As there have been no complaints regarding the existing facility and the proposed expansion would not be detrimental to the neighboring properties, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the request by Trott Brook Gospel Hall be approved. Recommendation: Council Action: Motion to: Adopt Findings of Fact 00 relating to a request by Trott Brook Gospel Hall for a conditional use permit to expand the existing church facility. -and- Motion to: Approve the request by Trott Brook Gospel Hall for a conditional use permit to expand the existing church facility at 17320 Nowthen Blvd. KW contingent upon the applicant entering into a conditional use permit agreement with the City.
